For the Birds

Each time we go camping the birds like to make their presence known. They fly out of the trees and quietly perch near us. I love watching them glide throught the air. On each trip one breed of bird or another grabs my attention.

When camping at Hendy Woods State Park last year it was a beautiful Steller's Jay that grabbed my attention. We were relaxing by the Navaro river with our feet in the sand. This is one of my favorite pictures. It even appears as my wallpaper on my phone.

While camping last month the bird of focus was a woodpecker. This woodpecker would grab our attention by first pecking on a barbeque in the site next to us, hitting a window, then looked for food in a nearby tree. It was fascinating to watch his little dance.

I am excited to see what bird decides to cross my path this month.
